Accounting Managers, this is a good one! Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit in the Portland area, needs an experienced Accounting Manager for an ongoing temporary opportunity. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys staying close to the numbers, taking ownership of the close, and being a trusted accounting resource to leadership.

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Reviewing account activity and providing oversight across the accounting function
• Completing month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Preparing financial statements and monthly reporting for leadership
• Monitoring budget activity and explaining revenue and expense variances
• Supporting audit preparation and responding to auditor requests
• Reviewing payroll, banking activity, and fund transfers
• Providing guidance on accounting questions, internal controls, and special projects

This position is approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, offers flexibility, and will be completed in the organization's Portland-area office. You will work alongside a knowledgeable accounting professional and partner closely with an approachable leadership team that values collaboration.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Nonprofit accounting experience
• Strong month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience
• QuickBooks experience
• Intermediate Excel skills
• The confidence to work independently while also being a collaborative and supportive partner
