Construction General Superintendent

Our client, a well established and respected construction company is seeking a highly experienced General Superintendent for their direct hire opening. This position offers a salary of $85K - $120K, a collaborative work environment, and the opportunity to manage complex construction operations across diverse project types, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and excellence in execution.

The General Superintendent will provide overall staff direction and guidance to field superintendents, construction managers, and project managers.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee total project supervision effort to ensure appropriate personnel, budget and schedule are met.
• Serve as senior technical advisor to all project supervision to assist in difficult construction or start-up problems.
• Authorize/approve all supervision personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.), in conjunction with appropriate project managers.
• Assist in jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required on union projects.
• Ensure all company, department, and technical policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to, interpreting policies as required.
• Assist with implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
• Assist in the development of supervision training programs.
• Provide expertise and technical knowledge to other home office department heads, may serve as member of management team.
• Serve as a home office department head, providing technical and administrative assistance to field staff.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:

• 10-15 years supervisory or equivalent experience in similar type facility construction;
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods);
• Experience and understanding of company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations are essential;
• Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
