Job Description
We are seeking a Plumber Helper.
In this role, you will assist experienced plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across various construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in construction plumbing, mechanical knowledge, and safety protocols. The Plumber Helper position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic environment while contributing to essential building projects. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Support the reading and interpretation of blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Handle hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Help with pipe installation, cutting, fitting, and assembly according to building codes and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to welding, power tool safety, and site hazards.
- Assist in troubleshooting plumbing issues and performing routine maintenance or repairs on existing systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Support remodeling projects by assisting with carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations.
- Participate in field service activities that require interpreting technical schematics and executing precise plumbing tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or plumbing-related roles is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards, building code compliance, and blueprint reading is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading, and pipe installation techniques is advantageous.
- Basic math skills are necessary for measurements, calculations, and interpreting schematics.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to plumbing maintenance and repair enhances job performance.
- MUST be able to pass a background check.
- MUST be able to pass a drug test.
- MUST have a valid driver's license.
Pay rate: $18 to $25 an hour, based on experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday. 7 am to 5 pm.
