Job Title: Director of Wireless Operations
Reports To: VP of Operations / Executive Leadership
Location: In-Person Daily Clifton, TX - Texas-based travel to job sites as required
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects from contract award through completion. This role serves as the central point of accountability for scope, schedule, budget, safety, and client communication.
Projects may include communications tower construction and upgrades, wireless infrastructure deployments, IoT and smart-estate installations, security and surveillance systems, network backhaul, and related construction or technology projects. The Operations Manager ensures work is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and milestones.
• Coordinate internal crews, subcontractors, vendors, and partners.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and labor are available when needed.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule or scope.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
• Conduct kickoff meetings, progress updates, and closeout reviews.
• Manage expectations and communicate changes clearly and professionally.
• Support leadership and sales teams with project-related insights and updates.
Budget & Cost Control
• Track project budgets, labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Identify cost risks early and communicate potential impacts.
• Assist with change orders, scope clarifications, and pricing adjustments.
• Ensure accurate job costing and documentation for project closeout.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce company safety policies and site-specific safety plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, tower safety, and industry standards.
• Conduct or coordinate job site safety briefings and inspections.
• Stop work and escalate concerns when safety risks are identified.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain organized project files, photos, permits, and documentation.
• Track permits, inspections, closeout documents, and as-built information.
• Provide regular project status reports to leadership.
• Ensure accurate handoff to operations, billing, and support teams.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Finance teams.
• Support scheduling, procurement, and logistics processes.
• Assist with continuous improvement of project workflows and SOPs.
• Represent company values and professionalism across all job sites.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of project management experience in construction, telecom, utilities, or technology installations.
• Experience managing field crews and subcontractors.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, drawings, and technical documents.
• Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
• Proficiency with project tracking tools, spreadsheets, and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with communications towers, wireless infrastructure, or ISP deployments.
• Experience with IoT, low-voltage systems, security, or network installations.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Tower safety or industry-specific certifications.
• Strong client-facing and problem-solving skills.
