Project Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing
Job Type: Direct Hire
Travel: Local and occasional overnight travel as needed
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex aerospace manufacturing and capital equipment projects from initial planning through design, build, installation, and customer delivery.
This position will manage project performance, cost, schedule, risk, and customer relationships while leading cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams. Projects may include aerospace tooling, assembly fixtures, automated equipment, work platforms, and large-scale production and assembly systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects from kickoff through completion while meeting customer, cost, schedule, and quality requirements
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Lead cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, operations, purchasing, finance, and supplier teams
- Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, budgets, and performance objectives
- Monitor project costs, schedules, risks, and opportunities and develop corrective action plans
- Review customer requirements, proposals, contracts, and statements of work
- Manage scope changes, including evaluating cost and schedule impacts and negotiating changes with customers
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular project updates and presentations
- Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, issues, and action items to internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze project financial performance, including budget, cost, margin, and cash flow
- Read and interpret blueprints and CAD models and understand basic GD&T
- Lead project teams within a matrix organization and ensure accountability for project deliverables
- Support continuous improvement of project management processes and PMO standards
- Travel to customer, supplier, and other company locations as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Business, or Project Management
- 5+ years of Project or Program Management experience
- Experience managing capital equipment, manufacturing, aerospace, or complex engineering projects
- Strong understanding of project cost, schedule, risk, and scope management
- Ability to read blueprints/CAD models and understand basic GD&T principles
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Ability to understand contracts and develop compliance matrices
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Must meet U.S. Person / Export Control requirements
Preferred:
- PMP Certification
- Aerospace manufacturing or defense industry experience
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, automation, assembly systems, or production equipment
- Experience managing large capital equipment projects
