ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Payroll Processing — Process weekly payroll, enter garnishments, and make updates to local, state, and federal payroll tax records within company systems.

 

•   Benefits Administration — Administer the company's Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) benefit program, including coordination of monthly open enrollment and reconciliation of monthly benefit invoices.

 

•   Employee Onboarding —  Manage the full onboarding workflow in Avionté, ensuring all required documents (I-9, tax forms, E-Verify) are completed accurately and on time; coordinate pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

 

•   HR Service Ticket Management — Manage the myAvalonHR service ticket platform as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries; triage, respond to, and resolve employee matters in a timely and professional manner while maintaining appropriate documentation.

 

•   Employee Status Changes & Separations — Process all employee status changes including terminations, suspensions, leaves of absence, pay rate changes, and position changes

 

•   Unemployment & Workers' Compensation Administration — Manage unemployment claims from filing through resolution; administer the workers' compensation insurance line, including claim reporting, coordination with the company's insurance carrier (EPIC), and return-to-work program management.

 

•   Safety Compliance & OSHA Oversight — Provide HR-level oversight of the company safety program in alignment with OSHA regulations; lead the company safety committee; ensure the timely completion of required regulatory reporting, including EEOC reporting and OSHA injury logs.

 

•   Training & HR Alignment — Manage the annual compliance training calendar and program; ensure site leads across all locations are trained on HR policies, processes, and compliance requirements; address field-level HR matters consistently across the organization.

 

•   HR Recordkeeping & Reporting — Maintain accurate and audit-ready employee records across Avionté and all supporting systems

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education

•   College coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A completed degree is not required but is viewed favorably.

•   HR certification (aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP) is a plus and reflects a commitment to professional development in the field.

 

Work Experience

•   Minimum 5 years of hands-on HR experience in a standalone or lead HR role.

•   Experience processing full-cycle payroll for more than 50 employees.

•   Strong working knowledge of wage, hour, and employment law.

•   Advanced knowledge of onboarding, I-9 compliance, E-Verify, background screening, and pre-employment processes.

•   Experience in the staffing industry or in a high-volume hourly workforce environment is strongly preferred.

•   Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping, workplace incident reporting, and safety compliance.

•   Experience managing unemployment claims and/or workers' compensation claims is preferred.

 

Software & Systems

•   Experience with Avionté (staffing-specific ATS/HRIS) is strongly preferred.

•   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage, reconcile, and audit payroll and HR data files, is required.

•   Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms is a plus.

 

Language Requirement

•   Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. This role serves a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce; the ability to communicate accurately and professionally in both languages is essential to employee trust, compliance, and experience.
