Description: Boise Centre is looking for an IT Specialist to join the team and help keep our technology, systems, and network running smoothly and securely! 

  

The IT Specialist helps plan, secure, administer, and improve the technology systems that support Boise Centre’s business and event operations. Reporting to the IT Manager, this position supports cybersecurity, network infrastructure, systems administration, assigned IT projects, technology planning, vendor coordination, and ongoing system reliability. The IT Specialist also serves as a senior technical resource for complex hardware, software, and network issues, helping identify root cause and direct corrective action while minimizing disruption to operations. This is a fully onsite position based at Boise Centre in downtown Boise, Idaho.


SALARY RANGE:  $63,398.40 - $79,248.00, depending on experience

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

  • Design, configure, administer, and maintain Boise Centre’s network infrastructure, servers, and business systems to support reliable and secure operations. 
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, access management standards, system hardening measures, and IT security best practices. 
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for complex hardware, software, network, system, and user access issues. 
  • Administer user accounts, access permissions, system configurations, and security protocols across departments. 
  • Analyze technology needs and recommend hardware, software, systems, and other technology solutions that support business and event operations. 
  • Plan and lead IT projects, system integrations, technology improvements, and related implementations. 
  • Develop IT standards, technical documentation, training, and guidance to help employees effectively and securely use Boise Centre technology. 
  • Oversee maintenance, updates, and backups for servers, databases, storage solutions, and PBX/VoIP systems. 
  • Oversee internet service delivery and digital signage systems for events and daily operations. 
  • Evaluate vendors, service providers, and contractors and coordinate cost-effective hardware, software, and service implementations. 
  • Participate in professional development and company and department training. 
  • Perform a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:

 Education & Experience 

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure with large organizations or in a large-volume, venue facility.
  • Relevant industry certifications or degrees in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, cloud technologies, or related disciplines, preferred.

Skills & Abilities 

  • Advanced technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills across Microsoft 365, Windows-based systems, network infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, mobile device management, and related IT technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, access management, system administration, backup and recovery, and IT controls necessary to maintain secure and reliable technology systems.
  • Ability to evaluate organizational technology needs, analyze technical and business requirements, and recommend appropriate hardware, software, infrastructure, vendors, and service solutions.
  • Ability to independently administer assigned technology systems and projects, establish technical priorities, document standards and procedures, and exercise sound judgment when resolving complex technology issues.
  • Advanced customer service skills to provide respectful, prompt, and attentive support to both internal and external customers, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with teams, share knowledge, receive feedback and direction, support colleagues, and be an accountable team member.
  • Advanced communication skills to interact professionally and positively using established communication methods.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and high-volume environment while maintaining regular and reliable work attendance at scheduled time onsite.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to adjust quickly to changes in workloads, tasks, and circumstances.
  • Professional conduct and the ability to follow workplace safety and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Present a professional appearance by following established grooming and uniform standards. 
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute detailed written and verbal instructions.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Involves sitting, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.  
  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.  
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.  
  • Frequent reaching and use of ladders, stools, and stairs.  
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.  
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.  
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours.  
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
