Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Block Scheduling | Every Third Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in an LDRP unit with 4 Labor & Delivery beds and 7 postpartum beds, following AWHONN staffing guidelines (Labor 1:1–2, Postpartum 1:2–3)
• Manage and titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and other antepartum/labor medications; administer postpartum medications as ordered
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate data using the OB Trace Vue electronic fetal monitoring system
• Care for patients 35+ weeks gestation in active labor and Mom/Baby couplets in the postpartum setting
• Support neonatal respiratory needs including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment as needed
• Float to Med/Surg or ED as needed for 1:1 patient sitting assignments; circulate for the baby during C-sections

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in North Dakota
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health are not eligible
• All requested time off (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract) must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Clinicians with facial hair must be able to pass an approved fit test (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); inability to pass fit testing due to facial hair may result in contract cancellation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a rural or critical access hospital setting with limited specialty resources
• Familiarity with OB Trace Vue or similar electronic fetal monitoring systems
• Strong independent clinical judgment and communication skills suited for a low-volume, high-acuity environment
• Experience with neonatal respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow)
