Position Overview

The SMT Operator is responsible for operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly equipment in a safe, efficient, and productive manner while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This position ensures production objectives are achieved through proper equipment operation, adherence to established processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Working within the parameters of the Quality Management (QM) System, the role supports Variosystems' quality initiatives, operational excellence, and company growth objectives by consistently delivering high-quality products that meet customer and organizational requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Operating SMT equipment during normal production runs. 
• Ensuring the highest quality of the paste printing, placement, and reflow process. 
• Ensure production tracking documents (Snapshot Forms) are completed properly.
• Complying with all SMT procedures.
• Accurate board counting/production tracking. 
• Ensuring AOI 30-minute sample procedure is followed in a timely fashion. 
• Monitor component fallout/contact technician if needed. 
• Birthing product serial numbers in Aegis system.
• Perform hand placement as needed. 
• Assist with line changeovers as needed.
• Assist with inspection as needed. 
• Assist with line PMs as needed.
• Maintain material traceability as required. 

Required Qualifications 

• 1 year of general machine operator experience
• Detail-oriented
