Machine Operator Setup Technician
Location: Nashville, TN
Shift: Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
Schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
A leading manufacturing company in Nashville is seeking Machine Operator Setup Technicians to join its team on the overnight shift.
This position is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated welding and metal forming equipment used to manufacture steel wire products. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with computerized or automated manufacturing equipment.
Compensation & Pay Progression
• Starting pay: $25.50/hour
• $26.50/hour after 90 days
• $27.50/hour after 1 year
• +$1.00/hour overnight shift differential
• Double-time pay for all hours worked over 40 per week
• Typical schedule of approximately 50 hours per week
• Estimated annual earnings of approximately $89,000 at the 1-year pay rate, including overtime and shift differential
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate automated welding and metal forming equipment
• Input production data and make adjustments to computerized machinery within established operating standards
• Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with equipment repairs
• Conduct quality inspections using blueprints and established specifications
• Identify and rework non-conforming parts when necessary
• Maintain accurate production counts and complete daily production paperwork
• Train other machine operators on safety, quality, and proper equipment operation
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Ability to understand and communicate technical information
• Experience setting up or operating computer-controlled manufacturing equipment is preferred
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work the assigned overnight shift and overtime as needed
