Patient Account Specialist (Biller)

Beacon Hill is partnering with a mission-driven healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their team. This individual will support the revenue cycle process through accurate billing, payment posting, account reconciliation, claims follow-up, and denial resolution. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in medical billing practices, coding, and insurance reimbursement, with a strong commitment to providing excellent service to patients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter and review charges to ensure accurate billing and coding.
• Post insurance and patient payments and process refunds as needed.
• Reconcile patient accounts and assist with resolving billing discrepancies.
• Generate and distribute patient statements and billing notices.
• Verify appropriate insurance assignments and coverage information.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and work denials to maximize reimbursement.
• Respond to patient billing inquiries and document account activity within the practice management system.
• Maintain compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
• Support additional revenue cycle and administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of medical billing or patient accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
• Understanding of insurance reimbursement methodologies and denial management.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing/practice management software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
