Job Description

Title: Manager Content Strategy
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Remote

Job Summary

  • The Manager of Content Orchestration & Personalisation owns the structural foundation that makes content strategy actionable at scale.
  • This role is responsible for designing, governing, and stewarding the enterprise content taxonomy, metadata schema, and CMS governance framework that ensures our content ecosystem across the client portal, Scrubbing In blog, and across client portals and web is organised, discoverable, and built for personalised delivery at scale.
  • This role builds the enablement layer at the intersection of content strategy and systems design, ensuring every asset is properly classified, mapped to health topics, audience segments and journey stages and ready to reach the right customer in the right moment in their health journey.
  • Essential Functions
  • Design, build, and maintain the enterprise content taxonomy for the client's web/portals, scrubbing in and within Sitecore, including tag hierarchy and metadata schema standards, and enforce consistent governance across all digital content assets in the CMS and DAM.
  • Own the content-to-personalisation mapping within Sitecore Personalise, defining which content assets surface to which audience segments under what behavioural or demographic conditions, in partnership with the Platform, Engagement and Web teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for content requests from the client digital product team, owning the intake triage process, scoping requests against team capacity and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with content strategy to ensure personalisation requirements and taxonomy considerations are integrated into content briefs at the planning stage, not retrofitted after production is complete.
  • Train and conduct ongoing audits of the web and editorial teams on tagging standards and metadata governance expectations to maintain content quality, searchability, and downstream personalisation accuracy.
  • Partner with IT/Digital Platform on CMS configuration decisions that affect content team workflow, representing editorial and personalisation requirements in technical planning conversations.
  • Coordinate with web and SEO leadership to ensure content taxonomy and information architecture are aligned across content strategy, web governance, and organic discoverability infrastructure.
  • Maintain governance documentation, including content type definitions, field-level tagging guidance, lifecycle rules, and CMS usage standards; run a regular cross-functional taxonomy review cadence with marketing, clinical, and digital product stakeholders
  • Build a living content inventory mapped to active personalisation use cases, identify gaps and redundancies, and report regularly on intake volume, request cycle time, and personalisation coverage across key audience segments
  • Performs other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • List the knowledge, skills, or abilities that a person in this position needs to have when in this role.
  • Every link should tie back to the essential functions that have been identified above. If a link cannot be made between knowledge, skills, or abilities listed and one or more of the essential functions, it should not be listed below.
  • Direct, hands-on experience designing and governing content taxonomies and metadata schemas within an enterprise CMS—Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Drupal, or an equivalent digital experience platform.
  • Ability to translate editorial content strategy into structured content models and governance frameworks, with a clear understanding of how taxonomy and metadata quality enable personalisation, search, and AI-assisted content workflows downstream.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable navigating competing priorities across clinical, marketing, technology, and digital product teams, and able to make and enforce governance decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Working knowledge of Sitecore AI and Sitecore Personalise or similar is preferred; familiarity with audience segmentation logic, personalisation rule configuration, and content targeting frameworks is a strong plus.
  • Detail-orientated systems thinker with the ability to hold both the structural logic of a content architecture and the editorial purpose it serves, translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes, documentation, and governance frameworks in a newly created or evolving function, operating with autonomy and clarity in an environment without established precedents.
  • Familiarity with health system content environments, including medical accuracy requirements, compliance considerations and governance across a multi-site, multi-brand digital ecosystem is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's or 6+ additional years of relevant experience
  • EXPERIENCE: 5 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with Sitecore or an equivalent CMS is preferred; a background in UX, information architecture or content design is a plus; health system or regulated industry experience is preferred
