Histology Technician

Job Title: Histology Technician / Histology Technologist
Location: Miami, FL 33136
Duration: 6 Months–1 Year
Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Perform tissue embedding, microtomy/sectioning, mounting, and staining.
• Prepare routine H&E stains and special stains such as Mason trichrome, elastic tissue, and microorganism stains.
• Maintain and operate manual and automated laboratory equipment.
• Organize and process pending/backlogged cases and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain reagents, supplies, equipment, slide files, and paraffin blocks.
• Follow laboratory safety, quality-control, and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Work closely with Pathologists, Fellows, and Residents.

Qualifications:

• Experience in histology, pathology, or tissue processing.
• Knowledge of tissue fixation, paraffin embedding, and microtome operation.
• Hands-on experience with H&E and special staining techniques.
• Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and follow SOPs and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple laboratory tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 30 lbs.
