The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Parts Manager to lead our parts department. You'll be responsible for the department's profitability, inventory management, and customer satisfaction. We are currently growing and need your help to execute our vision.
Pay: $25–$35/hr depending on experience (full-time, 40+ hrs/week)
What You'll Do
- Own the parts department's profitability—monitor margins, manage pricing, control costs, and drive revenue growth
- Lead, train, and develop parts counter sales staff to deliver exceptional customer service
- Manage inventory from ordering through stocking, maintaining optimal levels to support both retail customers and internal service technicians
- Analyze stocking needs and leverage manufacturer programs for dating, returns, warranty filing, and ordering to maximize value
- Build and maintain strong vendor and manufacturer relationships
- Ensure merchandising standards are upheld—clean, organized, and professionally presented parts department
- Collaborate with Service and Sales departments to support cross-functional goals and customer satisfaction
- Track and report on key performance metrics including gross profit margin, inventory turnover, fill rates, and warranty recovery
- Stay current on product knowledge, OEM updates, and industry trends—and share that knowledge with your team
What You Bring
Required:
- 5+ years of parts management experience in a retail environment
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with knowledge of two-cycle and four-cycle engines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), POS systems, and online parts lookups
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising, hiring, training, and developing staff
- Ability to lift and handle loads up to 70 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Experience in agricultural equipment, outdoor power equipment, recreational vehicles, construction equipment, or small engine industries
- Track record of growing parts department revenue and improving profitability
- Experience with warranty claim processing and manufacturer program optimization
- Familiarity with inventory management best practices including turnover analysis and demand forecasting
