Retail Sales & Delivery Associate

Sweet Deals & Appliance is looking for a reliable, hardworking sales associate who is comfortable helping customers and performing hands-on work. We sell appliances, cabinets, and flooring and provide appliance delivery and installation services throughout the Grand Rapids area.

This is not a desk-only sales position. The right person must be willing to assist with deliveries, installations, product handling, cleaning, and general showroom and warehouse work.

Compensation

• Starting pay: $19.00 per hour
• After a successful 30-day performance review: Pay increases to $21.00 per hour plus 1% commission on net sales
• Continued pay and commission eligibility are based on attendance, reliability, job performance, customer service, and the ability to complete assigned responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet customers and help them select appliances, cabinets, flooring, and related products
• Answer customer questions and explain product features, warranties, financing, delivery, and installation options
• Follow up with customers by phone, text, or online messages
• Prepare invoices and accurately enter customer and sales information
• Keep the showroom clean, organized, priced, and ready for customers
• Move, clean, inspect, and arrange appliances and other merchandise
• Help load and unload trucks and customer vehicles
• Assist with appliance deliveries and installations
• Help remove old appliances when required
• Perform basic warehouse, inventory, and product-processing tasks
• Assist with other store responsibilities as needed

Schedule and Availability

Applicants must have a flexible schedule. Regular store hours will be the primary schedule, but this position also requires availability for:

• Some morning deliveries or installations
• Some evening deliveries or installations
• Occasional schedule changes based on customer appointments
• Weekend work

Qualifications

• Retail sales or customer-service experience is preferred
• Appliance, furniture, cabinet, flooring, delivery, installation, warehouse, or power-tool experience is a plus
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable speaking with customers
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Willing to learn about appliances, cabinets, flooring, warranties, and financing
• Comfortable performing both sales and physical work
• Able to safely lift and move heavy merchandise with another team member and proper equipment
• Fluent in Spanish is preferred
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and moving equipment
• Basic computer and data-entry skills
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record preferred
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
