Job Description

The Telemetry RN plays a crucial role in monitoring and managing patients with cardiac and other critical conditions using standard bedside telemetry equipment. Working with a typical patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 or more, the Telemetry RN collaborates closely with physicians and the healthcare team to follow established protocols and respond efficiently to patient needs, including emergency situations. This role demands strong clinical skills, careful data analysis, and effective communication to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.


Travel Package available for experienced travelers


13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Charting System - Epic - Required

Floating required to like units - travelers must be flexible to floating
Every other weekend required
Experience: Must have surgical tele experience, open heart surgery and vascular, ( groin)radial band management, IV skills, NIH 2-3 years telemetry experience; optional- VAD, TAVR experience)

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient vital signs and telemetry data continuously
  • Analyze cardiac rhythms and other physiological data for abnormalities
  • Assess patient condition and clinical status regularly
  • Manage and troubleshoot telemetry equipment at bedside
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor effects
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and participate occasionally in rapid response teams
  • Document patient care and telemetry findings accurately
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status
  • Provide patient education related to cardiac health and telemetry monitoring
  • Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals following protocols

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
  • Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent clinical documentation practices
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Demonstrated skills in emergency response and time management
