Job Title: Skilled Laborer

Job Description

This Skilled Laborer role supports a variety of construction and concrete production activities, including general labor, concrete work, and assisting with machine operation. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment, performing physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, site cleanup, and the safe use of hand and power tools. The position offers a strong pathway for growth within the construction industry, including potential advancement into supervisory and heavy equipment operating roles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction labor tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup.
  • Support concrete-related work such as preparing, placing, and finishing concrete products and structures.
  • Assist machine operators in the production process by supplying materials, monitoring operations, and following instructions to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Operate basic machinery and production equipment as directed, following all safety and operating procedures.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, measuring, fastening, and assembling materials.
  • Handle heavy lifting and manual material movement throughout the workday as required by production and construction activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing regular cleaning and general labor duties.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and project timelines.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and instructions to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction labor or general labor in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Hands-on experience with concrete work, including working with precast concrete or on concrete construction projects.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
  • Proficiency using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and measuring tools.
  • Proficiency using power tools safely and correctly in a construction or production environment.
  • Basic carpentry experience or familiarity with carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measuring and cutting materials.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and following directions from supervisors and machine operators.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, carpentry, concrete, or general labor roles.
  • in landscaping or outdoor labor, demonstrating comfort with physical, hands-on work.
  • BG Experience assisting machine operators or operating basic machinery in a production environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, including potential training on heavy equipment operation.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety and quality.

Work Environment

The work environment is a construction and production setting focused on precast concrete pipe and structures. You will work on-site and in production areas where heavy materials, machinery, and concrete products are handled regularly. The role involves consistent, full-time hours with steady workloads and very regular work. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, tape measures, and other basic construction equipment, and you will frequently assist with or work around concrete production machinery. The environment is physically demanding, requiring regular heavy lifting, standing, bending, and working both indoors in production facilities and potentially outdoors around construction-related activities. Standard work attire typically includes durable work clothing suitable for a construction setting, along with appropriate safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear as required by site safety policies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
