Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice in Dallas, Texas. This contract-to-permanent hire opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and can balance document production, case support, and administrative coordination with accuracy and professionalism. The role requires strong judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation.
Responsibilities:
• Create, edit, and finalize a wide range of litigation materials, including pleadings, discovery responses, briefs, correspondence, and internal legal documents using advanced formatting tools.
• Support court-related submissions by preparing exhibits, binders, and case materials and completing electronic filings in state and federal courts through platforms such as PACER and Texas eFile.
• Maintain organized case records by opening new matters, assisting with conflict procedures, managing digital and paper files, and preparing documents for file closure when needed.
• Review legal documents carefully to ensure accuracy, consistency, grammar, punctuation, and proper use of legal terminology, including work produced from dictated or handwritten notes.
• Coordinate attorney schedules by tracking deadlines, managing calendars, and arranging meetings, conference calls, and virtual sessions along with the necessary supporting materials.
• Process administrative tasks such as time entry, billing support, reimbursement documentation, expense reporting, and incoming and outgoing mail in accordance with office procedures.
• Assist with travel coordination and help prepare content and materials for presentations, publications, hearings, and trial-related activities.
• Provide flexible support across the legal team, stepping in where needed to help attorneys, paralegals, and staff meet urgent deadlines and client demands.
• Use legal and business software, including Microsoft Office applications and document management or comparison tools, to support efficient case handling and document production.
• Previous experience in litigation support, legal assistant work, or paralegal functions within a law firm or legal department.• Hands-on knowledge of discovery, civil litigation processes, trial preparation, and document management throughout the life of a case.
• Demonstrated ability to complete electronic court filings in state and federal systems, including experience with platforms such as PACER, Texas eFile, or similar tools.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with familiarity with legal software and case management systems.
• Strong proofreading, document formatting, and written communication skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, stay organized under pressure, and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
• Sound judgment, discretion, dependability, and a collaborative approach to supporting attorneys and team members.
• Flexibility to work additional hours when case activity or filing deadlines require it.
