Job Description
This role focuses on operating a robotic welding cell in a manufacturing environment. You load parts into fixtures, secure them with clamps, initiate the robot weld cycle, and unload finished components while following standard operating procedures. You use your mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to perform basic welding or tack welding as needed, operate an overhead crane safely, and ensure consistent, high-quality production.
Responsibilities- Read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately for each job and setup.
- Load parts into fixtures, position components correctly, and close clamps to prepare for robotic welding.
- Start, monitor, and stop the robot welder cycle, ensuring parts are processed according to specifications.
- Unload welded parts from the robot welder and place them in designated areas or containers.
- Perform basic welding and tack welding operations when required to support production.
- Operate an overhead crane safely to move materials, parts, and assemblies within the work area.
- Work in a manufacturing/production environment, maintaining productivity and meeting production targets.
- Use basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot simple issues with fixtures, clamps, and part placement.
- Handle general labor and production tasks that support the welding and machining processes.
- Follow quality standards by visually inspecting parts and verifying that welds and dimensions meet requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints or work instructions to understand part requirements and weld locations.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and company policies.
- Strong attention to detail to read and follow SOPs and ensure correct loading and unloading of parts.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, with experience in manufacturing or production environments.
- Ability to perform basic welding or tack welding operations.
- Experience working around CNC machines or in a similar machining environment.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently.
- Capability to read and understand SOPs, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Comfort with general labor and production tasks in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with CNC machine operation.
- Hands-on welding experience, including spot welding.
- Ability to read blueprints for part orientation and weld requirements.
- Previous work in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in a 1st shift role.
