Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist
Location: North Plainfield, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite
Compensation: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
LHH is working with a well-established property management organization in their search for an Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to join its accounting team. This role will focus on managing receivables for a portfolio of properties, ensuring payments are received and applied accurately, and working directly with tenants to resolve outstanding balances and billing issues.
This is a great opportunity for someone with Accounts Receivable or Collections experience who enjoys a combination of accounting, problem-solving, and customer communication.

Responsibilities
- Manage daily Accounts Receivable activities for a portfolio of properties
- Monitor tenant accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
- Communicate with tenants by phone and email regarding past-due payments and account questions
- Process, post, and apply rental payments accurately
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
- Prepare, review, and maintain aging reports
- Track outstanding receivables and assist with collection efforts
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activity
- Work closely with property management and accounting teams to resolve account issues
- Provide professional and responsive service to tenants
- Ensure collection activities and documentation are handled in accordance with applicable policies and regulations
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, or a related accounting function
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable communicating with tenants regarding overdue balances and payment issues
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing payments
- Experience researching and resolving billing discrepancies
- Familiarity with aging reports and monitoring outstanding receivables
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
