Our client is a reputable law firm located in midtown New York. The firm represents transportation entities, insurers, product manufacturers, and other clients in strategic litigation, as well as regulatory, transactional, commercial, and tax matters.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and play an integral role in managing personal injury matters from initial intake through settlement or trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client interviews and gather comprehensive accident and injury information.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date documentation.
- Monitor case progression and ensure deadlines and critical dates are met.
- Draft legal documents, including demand letters, discovery requests and responses, motions, medical chronologies, and settlement packages.
- Obtain, review, and organize medical records, medical bills, insurance documents, and other case-related materials.
- Communicate professionally and regularly with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, and other relevant parties.
- Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
- Maintain case calendars and monitor deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct legal research as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm information.
- Provide general case management and administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in personal injury law or insurance defense experience
- Strong knowledge of personal injury legal terminology, procedures, and case management.
- Experience with e-filing in New York and/or New Jersey.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
