We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to support front-end patient services in a busy healthcare setting in Roanoke, Virginia. This contract to permanent oppportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, maintaining accurate information, and keeping daily administrative workflows organized. The person in this role will serve as a key point of contact for patients and visitors while helping ensure each interaction is handled efficiently and professionally.


Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors in a courteous manner and create a welcoming experience from arrival through check-in.

• Complete patient intake tasks by entering demographic details, confirming coverage information, and maintaining accurate records.

• Coordinate appointment scheduling, send confirmations, and assist with follow-up changes to support clinic operations.

• Receive payments such as co-pays and reconcile daily collections with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Partner with medical and administrative staff to keep patient movement and office activity running smoothly throughout the day.

• Respond to patient questions and concerns with professionalism, and route more complex issues to the appropriate team members when needed.

• Safeguard sensitive health information by following privacy standards and established confidentiality procedures.

• Experience with customer service, patient services, or other people facing roles required.

• Ability to assist patients professionally while providing clear and courteous service.

• Working knowledge of appointment scheduling and front-desk coordination.

• Familiarity with patient registrar responsibilities, including intake and record updates.

• Experience verifying medical insurance information accurately.

• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.

• Comfortable handling payment collection and maintaining accuracy in administrative tasks.
