DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports Children and Youth Caseworkers by helping clients and families with daily tasks, transportation, and important appointments. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Client Transport: Escort clients to medical, dental, court, foster home, and other scheduled appointments
- Daily Assistance: Support families with home care, meal planning, budgeting, childcare, and basic living activities
- Information Support: Provide basic information to clients and help maintain communication when appointments are missed
- Child Supervision: Supervise children during office visits and in crisis situations inside the home
- Material Delivery: Pick up and deliver equipment, clothing, and other client belongings
- Clerical Maintenance: Complete routine clerical tasks and maintain order in waiting and visiting areas
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency Guidelines.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
