This position helps manage maintenance operations, work planning, and crew supervision across an assigned area of McKean County. As an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager, you will perform the following duties:
- Maintenance Planning: Develop plans and estimates for roadway, bridge, and seasonal maintenance operations
- Crew Supervision: Direct general and specialized crews during maintenance and minor construction work
- Work Scheduling: Prepare drafts of long range, annual, monthly, and weekly work plans
- Agility Coordination: Work with local organizations to negotiate and oversee fair service exchange agreements
- Inspection Oversight: Review maintenance activities and coordinate inspections of contract work
- Personnel Management: Assign tasks, evaluate performance, coach employees, and address staffing needs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS) after successful completion of probationary period.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- All positions require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
