Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Heme/ONC/BMT)

Location

Madison, WI | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required | Holidays on rotation | 4x12 schedule also accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care to patients in a Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (Heme/ONC/BMT) setting
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments in accordance with facility protocols; Chemotherapy Certification required
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, including identification of lethal rhythms and heart block patterns
• Float to other units as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements
• Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Chemotherapy Certification required
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Heme/ONC/BMT; experience at a Level 1 trauma center or similarly sized hospital required
• EPIC experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with bone marrow transplant protocols and oncology-specific nursing care
• Strong telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
