Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical Telemetry unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, heart failure, diabetes, and end-of-life conditions, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on nights
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings using Space Lab brand monitors; a dedicated telemetry monitor tech is available 24/7 to support nursing staff
• Collaborate with a 24/7 charge nurse, patient care technicians, and respiratory therapy staff to deliver coordinated, safe patient care
• Administer set-rate drips as needed; titration of drips is not required on this unit
• Float as needed to a Medical Surgical unit and occasionally to the ICU for general overflow patients
• Adhere to facility dress code; navy blue scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical Surgical or Medical Telemetry nursing experience
• Ability to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday nights) and every other holiday
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience monitoring telemetry and recognizing cardiac rhythms in a hospital setting
• Familiarity with caring for CHF, heart failure, and end-of-life patient populations
• Experience working alongside patient care technicians in a team-based nursing environment
