Physician Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following pathways:

• ABEM/AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician, or
• Board Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician meeting the required Emergency Medicine experience criteria

For physicians without an Emergency Medicine residency:

• At least 6,000 hours of Emergency Department experience
• Full-time Emergency Department work during the three years immediately preceding application

Additionally:

• ACLS required
• PALS required
• ATLS recommended, but not an absolute requirement for the freestanding ED
