Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher working full time—37.5 hours per week—in Siskiyou County, CA. This role offers the chance to support a diverse group of students with mild to moderate needs, with a manageable caseload of 28 or fewer. While the position is primarily on-site, there may be flexibility for virtual/VOCO arrangements depending on availability and district preference.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credential for California
- Proven experience working with students identified with mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and evaluation
- Ability to provide differentiated instruction and interventions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Comfortable with adaptable work settings (on-site with potential VOCO)
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications as indicated in IEPs
- Assess students’ academic and behavioral progress and adjust strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records, track progress, and complete required documentation
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities
