Make an impactful difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their educational success in a dynamic classroom environment. This contract opportunity near Berkeley, CA, is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher who thrives on creating an inclusive and supportive space for students with moderate to severe needs. You’ll work full-time for the 2026–2027 academic year, guiding a caseload of 11 elementary students in an ESN setting, and collaborating closely with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Moderate/Severe required
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students with moderate/severe disabilities, preferably at the elementary level
  • Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instruction
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with parents, support staff, and related service providers
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and compassionate classroom culture

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in partnership with families and specialists
  • Employ evidence-based strategies, adaptive technology, and accommodations to promote student engagement and independence
  • Assess progress, document outcomes, and adjust supports as needed
  • Create a structured, nurturing environment that encourages growth in academic, social, and behavioral skills
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences throughout the school year
