Special Education Teacher in Vallejo, CA

This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners with moderate to severe needs (ESN) for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this position, you’ll work a consistent schedule of 7.17 hours per day, Monday through Friday, providing instruction and support to a caseload of 11 elementary students with varied abilities. Compensation ranges from $50 to $60 per hour, depending on your experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active California Moderate/Severe (mod/severe) Special Education teaching credential (required)
• Previous experience with elementary-age students with moderate/severe disabilities preferred
• Strong instructional, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt lessons and classroom environments to each student's individual strengths and needs
• Commitment to supporting inclusive and engaging educational experiences

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction according to each student’s IEP
• Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans and behavioral strategies
• Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom community
