Instructional Assistant - Gridley, CA

In this position, you’ll serve as a vital communication link, assisting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in their educational and social development. Working 2:30-6PM daily, 20-24 hours per week, you’ll help create an inclusive space where every student can thrive.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language is required
• Previous experience supporting children in a school setting as a Paraprofessional or similar role
• Understanding of special education environments is an advantage
• EIPA certification is not required for this role
• Adaptability to rotate between various school sites as needed
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Support students in after-school activities and academic tasks, ensuring communication accessibility through ASL
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify materials and provide clarification for assignments
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for students
• Supervise student interactions, ensuring safety and engagement
• Assist with individualized support per student needs, promoting independence where possible
