You’ll take the lead in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom, providing tailored instruction, structure, and support to help students succeed both academically and behaviorally. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current, valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education teaching license for Secondary level
• Ability to demonstrate or complete Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year (in line with the Right to Read Act)
• Prior experience working with students with EBD or severe behavioral needs preferred
• Strong skills in classroom management, behavior intervention strategies, and differentiated lesson planning
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver highly individualized instruction and behavioral interventions in a designated classroom setting
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with student goals and district/state guidelines
• Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and parents/guardians to foster student growth
• Support a positive, safe, and predictable classroom environment
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
