Make a meaningful difference supporting students with unique learning needs in a dynamic school environment as a paraprofessional in a specialized middle school program. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide vital assistance within the BRIDGES program, focusing on students on the autism spectrum and those with complex educational requirements.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit is strictly required; applications without an active permit (or a screenshot of pending status from DEEDS portal) cannot be considered.
  • Prior experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder or similar complex learning needs highly valued.
  • Must be comfortable providing support with feeding and toileting when needed. Two experienced nurses assist with these tasks, but flexibility is crucial.
  • Willingness to pay for state-required CBC fingerprinting ($85 fee).
  • Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:05am–2:55pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • RBTs are welcome to apply, but please note BCBA supervision cannot be provided during school hours and compensation will be at the paraprofessional rate.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, consistent one-on-one and small group support as directed by instructional and support staff.
  • Facilitate participation in classroom and daily school activities for a student with specialized needs.
  • Assist with personal care, communication, sensory, and behavioral support during the school day.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and nurses as part of a coordinated team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to program guidelines.
