Job Description
Step into a rewarding position dedicated to supporting students with special needs as a Special Education Teacher at the middle and elementary school levels. This full-time contract opportunity runs from as soon as possible through June 4, 2027. You’ll be part of a dynamic school environment, fostering growth and achievement for students with a range of learning differences.
Working Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:15pm, you’ll manage a diverse caseload, including a self-contained, non-severe class at the middle school and a resource role supporting elementary students in grades K-5. Your commitment and expertise will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid license or certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience with self-contained and resource classroom models
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and educational teams
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for various learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and learning
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Attend relevant meetings and provide input on student programs
- Employ positive behavior interventions and supports
