Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
• Prior experience working in a school setting as a paraprofessional or directly with students is preferred
• The EIPA credential is not required
• Effective communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
• Flexibility to move between different sites as needed

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing direct support to students who use sign language, enhancing their access to after-school programs
• Assisting teachers and specialized staff in delivering educational activities
• Responding to individual student needs and ensuring a positive, inclusive environment
• Facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Supporting student learning, behavior management, and social engagement
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Role Details:

• Contract position
• Afternoon schedule: 2:30-6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• 20-24 hours per week
• Travel to various nearby educational sites
