Virtual Special Education Teacher – Massachusetts


A welcoming high school district in Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated Virtual Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a current full-time opening. This position will support students in grades 9–12 with a current caseload of approximately 10 students. The caseload may change as the school year gets up and moving.

Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students in grades 9–12.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
Manage and support a current caseload of approximately 10 students.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, related service providers, and the special education team.
Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and functional skills.
Ensure instruction and services comply with Massachusetts special education requirements.


Experience
School-based special education experience preferred but not required.
Experience working with high school students preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.
Knowledge of IEPs and special education practices preferred.


Education & Licensure
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
Active Massachusetts DESE teaching license in the appropriate Special Education category, or eligibility for licensure.
Appropriate Massachusetts special education licensure required.
