You’ll work in Berkeley, CA from August 12, 2026, through June 3, 2027, serving a small, focused caseload of 11 students.
Your day will be well-rounded and engaging—7.17 hours each weekday, supporting students through individualized education plans and fostering meaningful academic and life skills growth.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active California moderate/severe (mod/severe) Special Education Credential required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in moderate/severe (ESN) settings
- Demonstrated ability to design differentiated instruction and implement behavioral supports
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning environments
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Foster a safe and nurturing classroom environment for students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to deliver holistic educational plans
- Utilize adaptive technology and alternate curricula to advance student learning
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and required documentation
- Offer guidance to classroom aides and contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture
