Special Education Teacher | Phoenix, Arizona

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students and classrooms near Phoenix, AZ, as a skilled Special Education Teacher! This position offers the chance to make a daily impact across three open roles—two in Preschool and one Cross-Categorical (K-8)—within a collaborative and welcoming school environment.

You'll work closely with a team including one teacher and two assistants, providing targeted support to meet a range of student needs. The K-8 caseload averages 10-13 students, while the busy Preschool program serves two half-day classes (Monday through Thursday) with 18-20 children per session.

Your expertise will empower students to achieve growth and reach their individualized goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Mild/Moderate K-12 Special Education license required; Moderate/Severe credentials will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience supporting either preschool or K-8 special education populations.
• Collaborative attitude and skill in working alongside classroom assistants and related service providers.
• Ability to create and implement IEPs, adapt instruction, and foster inclusive learning environments.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, staff, and administrators.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
• Manage caseloads and maintain compliance with state and federal special education guidelines.
• Lead IEP development, meetings, and ongoing progress monitoring.
• Support classroom management and hands-on learning activities, leveraging your assistants for optimal outcomes.
• Foster positive, productive relationships with students, families, and team members.
• Contribute to maintaining an inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom atmosphere.

This contract position runs from ASAP through May 21st, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
