Bring your sign language expertise to an engaging educational setting, supporting a 5th-grade student in a mainstream classroom. This contract opportunity, conveniently located near Kennesaw, is perfect for a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter who thrives working one-on-one and making meaningful contributions in students’ lives.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds an active GaPSC Sign Language Interpreter Educator Certification
- Must complete district-required fingerprinting process
- Previous success in school settings as a Sign Language Interpreter is highly valued
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit are essential
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 interpreting services for a 5th-grade male student within a general education classroom
- Facilitate clear communication between student, teachers, and peers to support academic and social success
- Adapt interpreting style as needed to align with student’s language preferences and classroom activities
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and relevant training sessions as requested
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for all students’ privacy in everyday interactions
This full-time role follows the school calendar, from September 10, 2026, through May 26, 2027. Daily hours are 7:30AM to 2:30PM (35 hours/week), allowing you predictable days and the chance to finish work early in the afternoon.
