Special Education Teacher | Vallejo, California

Step into a vital role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in the Berkeley area, serving a local school district under a full-time contract through the end of the school year. This position focuses on working closely with diverse learners, offering a supportive classroom environment tailored to individual education needs. The caseload consists of high school students, and the ability to teach subjects such as algebra, geometry, and physics is a must.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential
• Experience teaching high school students, particularly in algebra, geometry, and physics
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate educator dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and families
• Flexibility and commitment to adjusting strategies based on student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in algebra, geometry, and physics to high schoolers with diverse learning profiles
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Modify curriculum and teaching styles to meet each student’s unique needs
• Work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to ensure student progress
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with all district and legal requirements
• Participate in staff meetings, IEP reviews, and training sessions as needed
