Weekend Program Requirements\n

Participants must:

\n
    \n
  • Work 48 weekends per year
  • \n
  • Work 24 hours per weekend (either two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts)
  • \n
  • Complete scheduled hours between Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Monday at 7:00 a.m.
  • \n
  • Have a minimum of six months of CT experience
  • \n
\n

Additional program guidelines:

\n
    \n
  • Up to 96 hours of combined PTO and ITO may be used on weekends per fiscal year, allowing for up to eight weekend shifts off annually.
  • \n
  • Holiday scheduling requirements mirror those of non-weekend staff.
  • \n
  • Extra weekday shifts are optional and paid at the standard weekday rate but do not replace required weekend hours.
  • \n
What You'll Do\n

As a CT Technologist, you will perform advanced imaging procedures with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional patient care and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

\n

Responsibilities include:

\n
    \n
  • Performing computed tomography procedures using established imaging protocols, including contrast administration.
  • \n
  • Utilizing advanced CT equipment for image acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation.
  • \n
  • Independently adjusting protocols and applying sound clinical judgment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • \n
  • Administering oral, rectal, and IV contrast in accordance with physician orders and department policies.
  • \n
  • Demonstrating proficiency in venipuncture and power injector usage.
  • \n
  • Reviewing patient histories, assessing physician orders, and applying department protocols to ensure accurate imaging results.
  • \n
  • Accurately documenting patient information and maintaining imaging records within electronic systems.
  • \n
  • Ensuring exams are properly coded, tracked, archived, and charged through RIS and PACS systems.
  • \n
  • Verifying patient identity using two approved identifiers and following all universal safety protocols.
  • \n
  • Providing compassionate patient care by clearly explaining procedures, easing concerns, and fostering cooperation.
  • \n
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and fellow team members to support efficient patient care.
  • \n
Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • \n
  • ARRT certification required.
  • \n
  • CT certification or eligibility preferred.
  • \n
  • Minimum of six months of relevant CT experience required.
  • \n
  • Strong technical, communication, and patient-care skills.

\n Education & Experience\n
    \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • \n
  • Minimum of six months of CT experience required.
  • \n
  • Strong technical, critical thinking, and patient care skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • \n
Certification Requirements\n
    \n
  • ARRT registry-eligible candidates are welcome to apply and must obtain ARRT certification within six months of hire.
  • \n
  • CT certification must be obtained within 18 months of obtaining a primary ARRT registry or within 18 months of hire if a primary registry has already been earned.
  • \n
  • Graduates of accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology programs must obtain NMTCB (CNMT) certification within six months of hire.
  • \n
  • Current ARRT (R) or NMTCB/CNMT certification required, or eligibility to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
  • \n
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire in accordance with AHA standards.
  • \n
Temporary Permit Holders\n

Candidates practicing under a temporary permit are encouraged to apply. While working under a temporary permit:

    \n
  • Direct supervision by a licensed radiologic technologist is required.
  • \n
  • Administration of IV contrast and participation in contrast-enhanced CT procedures requiring IV contrast are not permitted.
  • \n
  • ARRT certification must be obtained within 180 days of permit issuance.
  • \n
Clearances & Compliance Requirements\n

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain all required certifications and clearances, including:
