Cath Lab Technician – Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab

Shift & Schedule: 06:45 AM – 03:15 PM
Weekly Hours: 48 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Call/Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Rotating on-call coverage

Requirements:

• RT-R ARRT or RCIS license required
• Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures
• Ability to perform physiological monitoring and intra-procedure testing
• Knowledge of equipment and supplies used during procedures
• Ability to maintain aseptic technique and infection control

Responsibilities:

• Assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system
• Monitor heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and oxygen saturations
• Anticipate catheter position changes and communicate patient condition changes to the physician and team
• Perform oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, hemodynamic calculations, and other applicable intra-procedure testing
• Prepare and handle equipment/supplies while maintaining asepsis
• Anticipate and adapt to physician and case needs
• Assist with room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure cleanup
• Follow infection control and sharps safety procedures
• Educate patients on post-procedure monitoring, catheter insertion-site care, and activity instructions

• Performs Heart, IR, and EP procedures
• Expected 40-hour work week with rotating on-call coverage
