ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
Primary Duties
The Activity Coordinator will provide comprehensive programs and services to the area’s senior population, offering educational, recreational, social, and fitness opportunities that promote the well-being and quality of life of elderly and disabled clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement activities and programs that meet the needs and interests of elderly and disabled seniors.
- Identify and seek out new programs and resources that provide meaningful educational, recreational, and fitness opportunities.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing scheduled activities and special events.
- Maintain accurate statistical and participation records to evaluate the effectiveness and success of programs.
- Assist in assessing program outcomes and recommending or implementing alternative activities and approaches as needed.
- Provide refreshments to clients and assist with related program activities when required.
- Assist with transporting clients when needed and ensure their safety and comfort during transportation.
- Assist clients safely on and off the bus, as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain an insurable driving record.
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience working with elderly clients preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct a variety of activities appropriate for senior populations.
- Must be physically capable of assisting clients safely on and off the bus.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to type and perform routine office tasks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work compassionately and professionally with elderly and disabled individuals.
