Service Plumber Helper / Apprentice - Residential/Commercial

PMC is a locally owned plumbing contractor in Fuquay-Varina serving homeowners, builders and businesses across the Triangle. We are hiring a service plumber helper to ride with our service plumbers on residential repair and service calls - water heaters, drain and sewer problems, leaks, fixture replacements, repipes and sewer camera inspections in Raleigh, Holly Springs, Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina and the surrounding area.

No plumbing experience required. We will train you. This is the right job for someone who has worked construction, another trade, maintenance, or any hands-on job, who is comfortable in a customer's home, and who wants to learn a trade with a clear path to becoming a service plumber.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Ride with a service plumber every day and learn diagnosis and repair on the job

- Help with water heater replacements (tank and tankless), drain cleaning, sewer line repairs, leak repairs, faucet, toilet and fixture replacements

- Set up and run the sewer camera and locator under a plumber's direction

- Dig and backfill for water and sewer line repairs

- Keep the truck stocked, clean and organized; pull parts and material for the next day

- Be respectful and professional in customers' homes - clean boots, drop cloths, clean up when done

- Learn to write up work performed and parts used

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - required (you will drive a company truck as you advance)

- Authorized to work in the United States - required

- Construction, trade, maintenance or similar hands-on work experience preferred

- Comfortable talking with customers and representing the company in their home

- Able to lift 75 lbs, work in crawlspaces and attics, and be on your feet all day

- Able to pass a background check - we work inside customers' homes

- Show up on time, work safe, listen, and want to learn
