We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Office Assistant / Patient Coordinator to support the daily operations of our home health care agency.

Job Summary

The Office Assistant / Patient Coordinator helps coordinate patient care, schedules field staff, manages patient records, handles intake calls, and supports communication between patients, caregivers, nurses, physicians, and office staff.

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls and assist patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate and schedule visits for nurses, caregivers, and other field staff.
  • Assist with new patient intake, referrals, and insurance information.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR/EMR system.
  • Follow up on physician orders, authorizations, signatures, and missing documentation.
  • Communicate schedule changes, call-offs, and patient concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with basic medical data entry, insurance verification, and billing documentation.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Perform general office duties including filing, scanning, faxing, emailing, and data entry.
  • Support office management with other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare, home health, medical office, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, or billing is a plus.
