Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to work in Long Term Care settings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and rehabilitating patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.

Job Responsibilities

• Effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients, developing tailored plans of care in compliance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress and document treatment adjustments in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness, modifying services based on patient evaluations and making referrals as necessary.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other healthcare team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, adhering to regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records per company policy.
• Accurately record treatment minutes in compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards.
• Participate in mandatory meetings, including patient care conferences and utilization reviews.
• Engage in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Facilitate the acquisition of necessary durable medical equipment or supplies according to regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellows or Student Speech-Language Pathologists when applicable.
• Uphold adherence to ASHA and state practice acts, including the code of conduct and ethics.
• Maintain active ASHA certification and state licensure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist required.
• Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience is required.
• Missouri State License is required.
• ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required.
• 3 years of active clinical experience preferred.
• References available upon submission.

Work Schedule

This position offers flexible scheduling arrangements within Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour workday. Start times must be established between 6 AM and 10 AM.

Weekend Requirements

There are no weekend requirements unless a holiday falls within a Monday to Friday schedule, in which case hours can be made up during the weekend.
