Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Chemist to support analytical laboratory operations, quality initiatives, and the development of new testing capabilities. This role will lead analytical projects, support laboratory equipment qualification and maintenance, oversee method validation programs, and provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and continuous improvement. The anticipated salary for this position is between $95,000 and $125,000 plus bonus.

Responsibilities:

· Lead projects focused on developing new analytical capabilities and improving existing laboratory methods and processes.

· Coordinate and maintain qualification activities for laboratory instruments, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.

· Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

· Administer equipment service contracts and maintain required documentation and records.

· Oversee the laboratory method validation program and maintain the OpenLab Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

· Perform complex analytical testing that requires significant hands-on laboratory work.

· Support root cause investigations related to quality issues, equipment failures, control charts, and laboratory system performance.

· Develop, write, and maintain analytical methods, SOPs, forms, and other laboratory documentation.

· Design and execute analytical projects supporting manufacturing, quality improvement initiatives, new product introductions, and customer quality concerns.

· Provide technical support in troubleshooting plant and product quality issues.

· Maintain NIR curves and support related analytical activities.

· Assist with product review and release activities as needed.

· Monitor and maintain the laboratory operating budget, including reference standards and equipment-related expenses.

· Participate as an auditor for ISO, RCMS, FSSC, and EFfCI programs.

· Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, GMP, and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements.

· Identify and communicate compliance concerns to site leadership and support corrective and preventive actions when needed.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required.

· Background in chromatography and NIR is preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of analytical laboratory experience, including instrument qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).

· Hands-on experience with analytical testing and method development or validation.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment, preferably within the food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, or related industries.

· Experience with Lean principles and/or Six Sigma is preferred.

· Working knowledge of laboratory and business software, including MS Project, Visio, and SAP.

· Strong technical knowledge of analytical chemistry, laboratory instrumentation, and equipment maintenance.

· Understanding of statistics, trend analysis, and data interpretation.

· Experience with statistical software such as Minitab or NWA.

· Strong project management and organizational skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
