Title: Sr. Tax Accountant

Location: San Antonio, TX, 78249 (Hybrid – Mon & Fri Remote; Tue–Thu Onsite)
Pay: $35–$52/hr. W2
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary:
Seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant with 2–5 years of Accounting/Finance experience to support multi-state Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax compliance, tax research, audits, reconciliations, and process improvements. The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running and complete assignments quickly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, file, and reconcile Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax returns.
• Perform tax research and provide taxability guidance to stakeholders.
• Support tax audits, refund claims, exemptions, and business license compliance.
• Troubleshoot tax issues related to POs, AR, and tax determination systems.
• Maintain GL reconciliations and ensure accurate/timely tax payments.
• Develop and maintain desktop procedures and identify process improvements.
• Work with business units, IT, auditors, and third-party tax providers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of Accounting/Finance experience.
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts) and analytical abilities.
• ERP experience and knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• CPA
• Sabrix and/or Vertex experience
• EDI, BI/BW, and Lean Six Sigma experience
