We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Indianapolis team. We are a full-service accounting and business advisory firm serving privately held businesses and individuals throughout Indiana and across the United States.
What You'll Do
As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in providing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
-Manage tax reporting and compliance engagements from planning through completion.
-Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for privately held companies and their owners.
-Provide tax planning and advisory services designed to help clients achieve their business and financial goals.
-Research and interpret federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
-Identify and develop tax-saving strategies and communicate recommendations to clients.
-Advise clients on tax implications related to mergers, acquisitions, and other significant business transactions.
-Oversee complex tax research projects across a variety of industries.
-Prepare and/or review technical tax memoranda.
-Plan, direct, and execute special tax projects.
-Reconcile tax information and identify potential issues or opportunities.
-Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients and serve as a key point of contact.
-Manage, mentor, and develop staff accountants and senior tax professionals.
-Provide ongoing feedback and participate in formal performance reviews.
-Collaborate with partners and other service teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
What We're Looking For
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-CPA license required.
-5+ years of recent public accounting and tax experience, including management experience.
-Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation.
-Experience with complex business and individual tax returns.
-Strong technical research and analytical skills.
-Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
-Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-A client-service mindset and the ability to understand the business objectives behind the numbers.
-Strong leadership skills with a genuine interest in developing and mentoring others.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with professional tax software such as ProSystem fx is preferred.
