Job Title: Mechanical AssemblerJob Description

This role focuses on assembling stainless steel and copper plate units with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, and safety. You will stack plates, add sockets, and verify that each unit meets specification by reading blueprints, using hand tools, and performing quality checks. The position requires regular lifting, basic computer use, and mechanical aptitude in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Stack stainless steel and copper plates and assemble sockets into units according to production specifications and blueprints.
  • Perform detailed quality control on plate packs, inspecting for defects, flaws, and verifying that ports and orifices are correct.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure proper assembly, orientation, and configuration of all components.
  • Use basic computer systems to pull and view blueprints, check inventory, charge off plate packs, and charge units to the production roster.
  • Operate and work around HMI (human-machine interface) equipment as needed during the assembly process.
  • Use hand tools, tape measures, and other basic tools to assemble, adjust, and verify components accurately.
  • Lift and move materials and assembled units weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and repeated basis, especially on L and XL assembly lines.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and production work instructions to meet quality, safety, and throughput goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, materials, and components are properly stored and handled.
  • Collaborate with team members and shift leads to meet daily production targets and resolve minor assembly or quality issues.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and use proper lifting techniques and protective practices while handling heavy materials.
  • Support both first and second shift assembly operations as required, maintaining consistent productivity and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, flaws, and incorrect ports or orifices during quality control inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for mechanical assembly work.
  • Basic computer skills, including pulling blueprints, checking inventory, charging off plate packs, and charging units to the production roster.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly as part of regular assembly duties.
  • 2+ years of assembly or manufacturing-related experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with production or assembly processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and a tape measure in a production or assembly setting.
  • Comfort working with HMI (human-machine interface) equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in general production, assembly, and heavy lifting roles.
  • Ability to work effectively on different assembly lines, including M, L, and XL assembly, with consistent lifting of 20 pounds or more on certain lines.
  • Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting production goals on first or second shift.
  • Willingness to learn and follow structured processes and quality standards.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on mechanical assembly of stainless steel and copper plate units. Team members use hand tools, tape measures, basic computer systems, and HMI equipment as part of the daily workflow. First shift runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and second shift runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with an additional shift differential. Work involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, consistent handling of components weighing 20 pounds or more on some assembly lines, and standing and moving throughout the shift in a production environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
